Tooth bonding is it’s pretty much a mainstay in dentistry; it’s very conservative. It's essentially reversible because we don't typically need to harm your tooth in order to bond. We basically can add back to your tooth. Sometimes, veneers are that way. You can do veneers that you don't prepare the tooth at all. Typically, the tooth has to be altered in some way to make room for the restoration that we're going to add. Bonding, generally, is an additive restoration, so we're adding to the tooth. We might be fixing a broken corner or making a tooth that's sitting back in the smile more and bringing it out, but it's something that's done chairside. It's fast and easy and generally less expensive.

Saving You Time And Money While Beautifying Your Smile
Tooth bonding is a noninvasive approach to correcting minor cosmetic flaws in your smile. We use a composite resin that does a wonderful job of integrating with your tooth structure. Because we match the resin to the current color of your teeth, it will blend seamlessly with your smile!
Additional benefits include:
- Less Prep Time – Other corrective techniques like dental veneers and dental crowns require enamel removal during the preparation process. With tooth bonding, the only prep work is some light etching of your tooth’s surface and application of a conditioning liquid to help strengthen the bond. It’s a completely reversible process.
- Cost-Effectiveness – Dental bonding is less costly than other corrective methods, so it can provide big improvements for a small investment.
Providing Customized Tooth Bonding For You
Dental bonding can effectively treat several cosmetic problems you are facing. If you’re dealing with any of the following issues, here’s how tooth bonding can help!
Chipped Teeth – Veneers are a more sturdy fix for this type of cosmetic problem, but they also cost more and are considered permanent. Dental bonding can quickly fix your tooth and give you back your undamaged smile.
Cracked Teeth – Small cracks in your tooth will leave darkened lines in the tooth surface. Dental bonding can cover those lines and restore the white appearance of your tooth. For more severe cracks, a veneer or crown may be a more appropriate treatment.
Gaps In Your Smile – Gaps between teeth can be very distracting to an otherwise attractive smile. Dr. Wilhelm can use dental bonding to close those gaps and give you the even smile you have always wanted.
Short Teeth – Dental bonding is an effective way of adjusting a tooth that may not have reached a proper length.
Enhancing Your Smile In One Visit With An Easy Process
First, Dr. Wilhelm will determine what shade of white the composite resin needs to be to match your tooth. Next, the surface of your tooth will be lightly etched, or roughened up a bit. This ensures a complete bond between the resin and your tooth surface.
A conditioning liquid is then applied to further strengthen the bond. Afterward, Dr. Wilhelm will apply the putty-like composite resin, mold the resin into the desired shape, and use a special light to harden it. Once the resin is cured (hardened), Dr. Wilhelm will buff and polish any rough spots.
