Providing Custom Dentures To Perfectly Suit Your Smile

Though we offer many types of dentures, there’s no need to feel overwhelmed. Dr. Wilhelm has years of experience helping people choose the best denture options to suit their individual needs. These options include:

  • Full Dentures – A full set of replacement teeth is custom made to fit inside your mouth and give you a completely new smile. You will take these out at night and for easy cleaning, and wear them for a bright smile throughout the day.
  • Partial Dentures – This is a partial set of replacement teeth. This option is for those who need to replace more teeth than what a dental bridge can do.
  • Temporary Dentures – This type of denture will provide you with a full set of teeth while you wait for your final denture. They will serve you well in the short-term but should not be considered a long-term option. They will become loose and shift due to bone and gum shrinkage following your tooth extraction.
  • Implant-Secured Dentures – This type of denture is stabilized by dental implants. First, Dr. Wilhelm will place an appropriate number of implants in your jaw for maximum stability. Then, he will attach a bar to the implants. While your denture will clip onto the bar to remain stable in your mouth, you can still remove it.
  • Implant-Retained Dentures – For this procedure, balls on top of the implants snap onto corresponding mechanisms on the bottom of your dentures. This firmly holds your denture in place.

Creating Your New Dentures

To make your dentures, Dr. Wilhelm will take a series of dental impressions. Your denture will consist of a full (or partial) arch of replacement teeth that are mounted on a gum-colored base to give them the look of natural teeth.

It may take up to 12 weeks for these to be ready, so your temporary dentures will make sure that you have teeth while you wait for your final restoration to be completed.

Helping Your Smile With Dentures, Dental Implants, Or Both!

When it comes to dentures and dental implants, neither option is necessarily better or worse than the other. Dental implants are replacement tooth roots that stabilize restorations, while dentures are sets of replacement teeth. With implant-secured dentures, you can get the best of both worlds: the stability of dental implants and the full set of replacement teeth provided by dentures.
